Shane Daniel Byrne is an award-winning stand-up comedian, writer, actor and presenter, recognised as one of Ireland's most exciting comedy talents.

His debut stand-up show, But He's Gay, premiered in 2023 to critical acclaim, selling out runs at both the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Dublin Fringe Festival, with extra performances added due to overwhelming demand. He followed this with his first national tour in 2024, including two sold-out nights at Dublin's iconic Vicar Street.

A regular headliner at Ireland's leading comedy clubs, Shane has also toured as support for Tony Cantwell, Emma Doran, Vittorio Angelone, Kiri Pritchard-McLean and David O'Doherty. He has performed at major festivals including The Cat Laughs, Vodafone Comedy Festival, Paddy Power Comedy Festival, Body & Soul, Electric Picnic, Otherside and Love Sensation, bringing his distinctive comedy to audiences across Ireland, the UK and the Middle East.

Shane is one third of the chart-topping comedy podcast Young Hot Guys, alongside Tony Cantwell and Killian Sundermann. Celebrated for its surreal humour and genuine warmth, the podcast has become one of Ireland's most popular comedy shows.

His television credits include RTE’s The Dry and These Sacred Vows, a surprise appearance on Amazon Prime's LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland (2024), hosting RTÉ's Love Bites and Queer History School, and appearing in Reeling in the Fears, for which he co-wrote a sketch with Joanne McNally.

Alongside his stand-up and screen work, Shane is an experienced live host and presenter. He has hosted the Dublin Pride Stage at the Mother Pride Block Party, co-hosted The Irish Times Theatre Awards with Eileen Walsh, and fronted events for organisations and brands including GCN Magazine, Dublin Youth Theatre, Bulmers Light and West Coast Cooler.
